Desert Heat

I’m back to expose you to more Canadian musical artists and today I found a group out of Montreal, Quebec. Desert Heat lists themselves as country/folk rock/southern rock and what I want to know is how does such good foot stomping, soul shaking, uplifting good ole’ boy sounds come out of the concrete jungle of Montreal? This is music I expect to find on the ranches of Alberta or at a hoe down in the Prairie Provinces or even at a logging camp in BC.

Further reading reminded me not to trust first impressions. Desert Heat got its start in a barn in rural Quebec and gained popularity originally as a rock ‘n roll cover band before taking some time off to emerge with their current sound. And what a great sound. These tunes make me want to party. Grab a good friend and some refreshments and just have some fun. I can see myself singing along to these songs even when the music is just playing in my head. And isn’t that what good music is all about?
